Challenge: Caswell Inc., an eight-employee operator of three online stores selling metal-plating kits, British-sized fasteners, and long-tail boat motors near Rochester, NY, ran accounting on Everest Software for roughly 13 years. Each Everest update caused two to three days of downtime, and the multi-company add-on was losing support as the license came up for renewal. An attempted return to QuickBooks was abandoned after months of setup problems and crashes, leaving only weeks to find a replacement.

Solution: Cloud 9 ERP Solutions implemented Acumatica in phases, prioritizing order processing and invoicing first. Caswell's president handled much of the data work himself using Acumatica's import tools, loading customers, 5,000 SKUs, vendors, credit card and shipping processes, and starting balances; the company went live in 10 days in November 2014, aided by Cloud 9's knowledge of Everest and Magento.

Results: Integrated, batched order processing cut invoicing from a full day's work to about one hour per day, and tracking numbers now upload to Magento hourly instead of the next day. The president regained roughly 10 hours per month previously spent on IT troubleshooting, and the firm is extending Acumatica to its other two companies on a single instance, targeting growth above 15 percent per year on roughly $4 million in revenue.

Even though we were running Everest on premises, Acumatica is faster. The automation, the data import features and even batch change processes take minutes. Acumatica is reliable, and there's no IT overhead.

Challenge: New England Tile, an importer and seller of tile and stone with more than 8,000 products and eight employees, had run server-based Everest ERP for 14 years. The aging server was failing, Everest's upgrade pricing had risen sharply, and the vendor's support commitment was unsatisfactory; NetSuite was evaluated and rejected over its user interface.

Solution: Cloud 9 ERP Solutions moved the company to cloud-based Acumatica 4.0, purchased as Distribution and Financial Management suites on a perpetual license, going live in April 2013 after roughly two months of data transfer and testing.

Results: The company saves about $500 per month in server-related costs and avoided a $7,000 server replacement. Any employee can pick up another's orders, a keyword inventory browser replaced item-number lookups, drivers reach mapped addresses in seconds instead of minutes, and customer emails are sent directly from the sales form in a couple of clicks.

Challenge: Panova (formerly AME), a family-owned manufacturer of molded components and bonded assemblies serving OEMs, contract manufacturers, and distributors, needed to move all business processes to the cloud so worldwide staff could access information, integrate its ERP with the Box content-sharing platform, and move toward a paperless environment. Product test results were tracked manually in documents and spreadsheets.

Solution: Cloud 9 ERP Solutions implemented and manages Acumatica ERP with a single-sign-on Acumatica-Box integration, letting staff access and manage Box files from within Acumatica with changes synchronized across both platforms.

Results: Staff complete product test tracking work four times faster than under the manual process — a 400% productivity gain. Screens open three times faster than the prior setup and navigation time between records has halved, moving the company closer to a fully paperless operation.

Acumatica is the backbone of our cloud environment. It has already changed the way we do things, improving efficiency, and there are endless opportunities for even more process improvements and productivity gains.

NetSuite (purchased 2005); a SAP Business One project was abandoned before selecting AcumaticaAcumatica Cloud ERP (private cloud / on-premise deployment)

Sales orders for custom jewelry now generate purchase orders to manufacturing facilities automatically, with invoices and payments generated per customer payment terms; orders from multiple channels are imported and processed the same day. The company's developers plan a real-time API interface to its e-commerce site.

Challenge: J. Goodin, a fashion jewelry manufacturer and distributor selling make-to-order and make-to-stock through Amazon, wholesalers, and retail outlets, needed an ERP for sales orders, purchase orders, inventory, and accounting. NetSuite, bought in 2005, suffered slow computations, reliability problems, and weak support, and a subsequent SAP Business One project was dropped after over $160,000 of spend.

Solution: Cloud 9 ERP Solutions delivered Acumatica as a web-based system with an on-premise server deployment option, letting J. Goodin purchase a license and build customizations rather than remain dependent on a SaaS-only vendor. Growth-based pricing allowed unlimited users across offices in the USA, Mexico, and China.
