Overview

Axway Amplify API Management covers the full API lifecycle, from design and testing through security, publication, consumption and retirement. Its gateway enforces policy-based security using a library the vendor describes as more than 200 prebuilt security policies, alongside rate limiting, quotas and access controls, and it can be deployed on-premises or in any cloud environment.

The platform is built around what Axway calls a federated, or universal, API management model, intended to unify governance across multiple teams, gateways and hybrid cloud environments rather than requiring a single centralized gateway. Its developer portal supports self-service API discovery and reuse with a customizable experience, and the platform is DevOps-ready with CI/CD automation support alongside monitoring and visibility tooling.

Axway Software was spun out of Sopra's software infrastructure division in 2001 and later listed independently on Euronext Paris. Following its 2024 acquisition of Sopra Banking Software, Axway rebranded as 74Software in December 2024; the Amplify API Management product and the axway.com domain continue to operate under the Axway product name.
