Overview
Planview ChangePoint is a professional services automation (PSA) platform aimed at services organizations that need to manage the full opportunity-to-revenue lifecycle: opportunity and contract management, project and resource planning, delivery execution, and financial tracking in one system. It grew out of Changepoint Corporation, a Seattle/Toronto-area PSA and portfolio-management vendor that Planview acquired in February 2021 and has since integrated into its broader project and portfolio management (PPM) product line.
The platform is organized around what Planview calls the quote-to-cash lifecycle: opportunity and demand/capacity forecasting, contract management with support for multiple billing methods (time & materials, fixed fee, subscription, outcome-based), multi-level project work breakdown structures, skills-based resource matching and utilization tracking, a graphical workflow automation engine for delivery stages, and financial management covering budgets, margins, revenue recognition and multi-currency billing. Reporting runs on an embedded IBM Cognos analytics engine with interactive dashboards and drill-through analysis.
ChangePoint targets mid-market and larger services organizations - IT services firms, consultancies, staffing firms and internal shared-services teams - that need to connect sales opportunities, project delivery and financial results rather than running them in separate systems. It is delivered as SaaS, includes a mobile app for time and expense capture, and connects to CRM and ERP/finance systems used to run the rest of the business.
