SMB channel partners who license & implement

Infor Resellers

Infor sells to small and mid-sized businesses largely through its channel, and the firms formerly called Infor channel partners or value-added resellers are now grouped in the Partner Finder as SMB Partners. This is the largest group in the directory. A reseller typically does two things at once: licenses the software to you and implements it. That combination is convenient, but it means the firm advising you on scope is also the firm whose revenue depends on the size of that scope — worth remembering when you evaluate a proposal. If you want the advice separated from the sale, look for a Selection Advisor instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Infor reseller?

An Infor reseller — designated an SMB Partner in Infor's current Partner Finder, and historically an Infor channel partner or VAR — is a firm authorised to license Infor software to customers and, in almost all cases, to implement and support it as well. They are Infor's main route to market for small and mid-sized businesses.

Is it cheaper to buy Infor through a reseller or direct?

Neither is reliably cheaper, and it varies by product and region. Resellers have their own margin but also their own discretion on discounting and bundled services, and for SMB deals Infor often has no direct sales motion at all. The more useful question is what implementation services and ongoing support are included in the quote, since that is where the real cost difference between proposals usually sits.

What is the difference between an Infor reseller and an Infor Enterprise Partner?

The designations describe who they serve and how. SMB Partners (resellers) serve small and mid-sized businesses and typically sell the licence as well as implementing it. Enterprise Partners serve large, complex organisations and are usually services-led, with the licence bought from Infor directly. Global Systems Integrators sit above both for multi-country programmes.
