BlackLine is a publicly traded financial software company whose products are sold by SAP as SAP Solution Extensions for the financial close, intercompany, and record-to-report processes. The relationship dates from 2009, and BlackLine is the sole SAP Solution Extension partner in the financial close and intercompany domain. Its software is offered as SAP Account Substantiation and Automation by BlackLine, SAP Intercompany Financial Hub by BlackLine, and most recently the BlackLine Smart Close solution that runs natively against SAP S/4HANA. More than 1,200 organisations are reported to run BlackLine alongside SAP, and the partnership has been recognised with SAP Global Finance and Spend Management Partner Excellence Awards, including the 2025 award for Partner Solution Success. BlackLine is listed in the SAP partner directory at the Gold tier for consulting and implementation in some directories, while SAP itself describes the relationship as a platinum-level solution-extension partnership. Functionally, the products focus on automating account reconciliations, journal entries, transaction matching, intercompany accounting, and close task management for finance organisations using SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA.
