FAQs {#faqs}
What's the difference between Dynamics 365 Finance and Business Central?
Finance (part of F&O) targets mid-market and enterprise multi-entity organisations with complex finance requirements. Business Central targets small business and lower mid-market with simpler needs. Finance starts at $210/user/month (£165/user/month); Business Central at $70/user/month (£55/user/month).
How does the attach licence work?
The first F&O application a user is assigned is the base licence (typically $210/month, £165/month). Additional F&O applications on the same user are licensed at the attach rate of $30/user/month (£24/user/month) each — a ~85% discount. The first app should be the highest-priced qualifying app.
Which Dynamics 365 module covers manufacturing?
Production Control inside Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. It covers discrete, process, and lean modes, with full MRP, shop floor, and quality. Engineer-to-order is supported via Product Configurator.
Does Dynamics 365 F&O include CRM?
No — CRM lives in the Customer Engagement applications (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Marketing). These integrate with F&O via Dataverse but are licensed and architected separately.
Can I just buy Dynamics 365 Finance without Supply Chain?
Yes. Each F&O application is licensed independently. Many services firms buy Finance + Project Operations without Supply Chain.
