Overview
SnapLogic is an intelligent integration platform as a service (iPaaS) that supports both application integration and data integration on a single platform. Integrations are built visually by assembling modular components called 'Snaps' -- pre-built connectors and processing steps -- into pipelines, with an AI assistant (Iris/AutoSuggest) recommending the next Snap based on patterns learned across the user base. This makes the platform suitable for connecting SaaS apps and for moving large volumes of data into warehouses and lakes for analytics.
The platform provides 1,000+ pre-built Snaps and templates, plus API management and process automation capabilities. SnapLogic runs on a multi-tenant cloud control plane with a data-processing engine, the Snaplex, that can be hosted by SnapLogic (Cloudplex) or self-managed in a customer's environment (Groundplex) for hybrid and on-premises data movement. SnapLogic positions itself for use cases spanning analytics/ELT, application integration, and (more recently) AI/agent workflows.
SnapLogic was founded in 2006 by Gaurav Dhillon, a co-founder of Informatica, and is headquartered in San Mateo, California. The company has raised more than $390 million in funding, including a 2021 round that valued it at roughly $1 billion.

Strengths & considerations
Strengths
- Single platform covers both application integration and large-scale data/ELT integration
- Iris AI AutoSuggest recommends pipeline steps based on crowd patterns
- Snaplex hybrid runtime (Cloudplex/Groundplex) supports data residency and on-prem processing
Considerations
- Pricing is quote-based and not publicly listed
- Strength in data/analytics integration may make it heavier than needed for simple SaaS-to-SaaS automations

Alternatives to SnapLogic in iPaaS
SnapLogic — frequently asked questions
What is a Snap in SnapLogic?
A Snap is a modular, pre-built connector or processing component that users drag into a pipeline; chained together, Snaps form an integration or data pipeline.
Can SnapLogic process data on-premises?
Yes. The Snaplex execution engine can run as a self-managed Groundplex inside a customer's environment so data is processed locally, in addition to the SnapLogic-hosted Cloudplex.
Is SnapLogic for application integration or data integration?
Both. The platform supports SaaS/ERP application integration as well as large-scale ETL/ELT data integration into warehouses and lakes on the same platform.
