Overview
iBASEt (legal name iBase-t) is a manufacturing operations software provider founded in 1986 and headquartered in Lake Forest, California. Its flagship product, Solumina, is a manufacturing operations platform built for complex, highly regulated discrete manufacturing sectors such as aerospace and defense, industrial equipment, electronics, shipbuilding, nuclear and space.
Solumina bundles a Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) capabilities, MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) software, Supplier Quality Management (SQM), and an Enterprise Quality Management System (EQMS) into a single platform. It digitizes shop-floor work instructions (including 2D/3D CAD-driven visual instructions), enforces process and routing compliance, manages product genealogy and as-built/as-maintained traceability, and consolidates production and quality data into real-time dashboards.
In 2020, iBASEt launched Solumina iSeries, which the company describes as built on a microservices architecture. Solumina is designed to sit between ERP and PLM systems on the shop floor, synchronizing engineering data (BOMs, CAD models, engineering changes) from PLM systems into manufacturing execution while exchanging production, cost and inventory transactions with ERP systems including SAP, Oracle, Deltek and IFS. It has held SAP integration certification, and iBase-t offers a dedicated SAP Connector as an add-on integration product.

- PLM integration with PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter and Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE
- ERP integration with SAP, Oracle, Deltek and IFS
Common use cases
- Digitizing paper-based work instructions on the shop floor for aerospace and defense production
- Maintaining full as-built product genealogy for regulated, audited manufacturing programs
- Synchronizing engineering BOMs and CAD changes from a PLM system into manufacturing execution
- Exchanging production, cost and inventory transactions between the shop floor and SAP ERP
- Running closed-loop CAPA and nonconformance processes across in-house and supplier quality
- Managing MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) work for complex, long-lifecycle products
- Consolidating real-time factory floor data into manufacturing performance dashboards
Strengths & considerations
Strengths
- Purpose-built for highly regulated, complex discrete manufacturing (aerospace, defense, nuclear, shipbuilding) rather than general/discrete manufacturing broadly
- Single platform spanning MES, MOM, MRO, SQM and EQMS rather than separate point products
- Canonical integration framework designed to stay agnostic across multiple ERP (SAP, Oracle, Deltek, IFS) and PLM (Windchill, Teamcenter, 3DEXPERIENCE) systems
- Solumina iSeries architecture rebuilt on microservices, launched 2020
ERP integrations
Decoupled connector architecture; real-time synchronous (JSON) or near-real-time asynchronous (XML via ActiveMQ) exchange

Alternatives to iBASEt in Manufacturing (MES / PLM)
iBASEt — frequently asked questions
Does iBASEt integrate with SAP?
Yes. iBase-t offers a dedicated SAP Connector add-on for Solumina, and Solumina has held SAP integration certification. The connector supports both real-time synchronous (JSON) and near-real-time asynchronous (XML via ActiveMQ) data exchange with SAP ECC and related SAP environments.
Does Solumina also integrate with PLM systems?
Yes. Solumina integrates with major PLM systems including PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter and Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE, synchronizing engineering BOMs, CAD models and engineering changes into shop-floor execution.
How much does Solumina cost?
iBase-t does not publish list pricing. Solumina is priced on a quote basis depending on the modules deployed, number of users, and implementation scope.
Who is Solumina built for?
Solumina targets complex discrete manufacturers in highly regulated industries such as aerospace and defense, industrial equipment, electronics, shipbuilding, nuclear and space, where extensive traceability, quality management and compliance documentation are required.
