Dynamics GP still out-features Intuit Enterprise Suite on HR, inventory and operations, but it is end-of-life; IES is a credible destination only for US, finance-led GP customers.
Most readers of this comparison are GP customers choosing a next system. On features GP wins: it rates strong in finance, HR and inventory and moderate in manufacturing, supply chain, projects, procurement, warehousing and BI, with strong US payroll as a listed strength. Intuit Enterprise Suite rates strong in finance and moderate in HR, projects, inventory and BI, with no manufacturing or warehouse module. The case for IES is the future: GP's own record states an end-of-life announcement with no new features and support until 2028, and GP is on-premise only, while IES is cloud-native and still shipping releases. For a US professional services GP customer with simple inventory, IES offers multi-entity consolidation, dimensions, native payroll and a one-to-three-month implementation at an estimated $7,800–$15,000 a year. For distributors and manufacturers on GP, IES has no equivalent to the modules they use, and Microsoft's named successor, Business Central, or another full ERP is the safer path. Either way, budget for a re-implementation rather than an upgrade.
Pick Intuit Enterprise Suite if
US, finance-led GP customers with simple inventory; professional services groups with several entities; teams willing to move into the QuickBooks ecosystem for a cloud platform with native payroll.
Pick Microsoft Dynamics GP if
Existing GP customers who need time before re-platforming (support runs until 2028); distribution and manufacturing GP shops dependent on inventory and warehouse modules — who should also evaluate Business Central.

Dynamics GP is a mature on-premise ERP at the end of its life; Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES) is a young cloud platform for multi-entity finance. Anyone reading this comparison is almost certainly a GP customer deciding where to go next. GP is stronger than IES on HR and payroll and on operations — inventory, procurement, warehousing and manufacturing — but its record states an end-of-life announcement with no new features and support until 2028. IES is a credible destination for a US, finance-led GP customer with little inventory complexity. For operational GP shops, Microsoft's intended successor, Business Central, or another full ERP is the safer move.
Module strengths on each side
GP rates strong in finance, HR and inventory; moderate in manufacturing, supply chain, project management, procurement, warehouse management and business intelligence; basic in CRM, quality and asset management. Its listed strengths are mature financial management, a strong HR and payroll module with US payroll support, a large installed base and partner ecosystem, and Microsoft stack integration with Office, SQL Server and Power BI.
IES rates strong in finance and moderate in HR, project management, inventory and business intelligence, with basic supply chain, CRM, procurement, ecommerce and asset management, and no manufacturing or warehouse coverage. On features, GP wins: HR and inventory are strong against moderate, and GP covers manufacturing and warehousing that IES does not.
The case for IES is the future rather than the feature list. GP is on-premise only with no native cloud offering; IES is cloud-native and still shipping releases. IES has a basic ecommerce capability where GP has none, and multi-entity consolidation with dimensions and transaction-level intercompany eliminations is its core design.
Pricing and cost shape
GP lists from $75 per user per month, with a typical contract value of $40K–$200K in its record — though for current customers the relevant number is migration cost, not new GP licences. IES publishes no prices; independent estimates in our IES pricing guide run about $7,800–$15,000 a year depending on entity count, with a one-to-three-month implementation.
For a finance-led GP customer, IES is likely to cost less than a full ERP replacement. Budget for a re-implementation rather than an upgrade either way: GP's own cons note that even the Microsoft path to Business Central requires careful planning.
Size and industry fit
Both records cover 51–250 and 251–1,000 employees. GP's primary industries are wholesale and distribution, professional services and manufacturing, with nonprofits, healthcare and education secondary. IES's primary industry is professional services, with wholesale and distribution and construction secondary.
Professional services GP customers are the natural IES candidates. Distributors and manufacturers on GP depend on modules IES does not have.

Migration and stack notes
GP customers are often deeply invested in the Microsoft stack, and Business Central keeps Office, Teams and Power BI integration. IES moves the finance team into the Intuit ecosystem instead — QuickBooks Payroll, QuickBooks Time, Bill Pay and the QuickBooks app ecosystem. GP's payroll is strong, so check that IES's US payroll and Workforce Elite HR cover your current processes in a demo, and note IES is described as US-only.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Dynamics GP end-of-life?
GP's record lists an end-of-life announcement as a con: no new features and support until 2028.
Can Intuit Enterprise Suite replace Dynamics GP?
For a US, finance-led GP customer with simple inventory, yes. For GP customers running manufacturing or warehouse processes, IES has no equivalent modules.
Which has better HR and payroll?
GP, whose HR rates strong with US payroll support. IES rates moderate, with native QuickBooks Payroll and Workforce Elite.
Should GP customers consider Business Central instead?
Yes. It is Microsoft's named migration path and keeps the Microsoft stack. We compare it with IES separately.
