Sage 300 is stronger today for multi-currency groups and real inventory; Intuit Enterprise Suite is the modern cloud option for US-only, finance-led groups — and Sage itself is shifting investment away from Sage 300.
Both are sold on multi-entity finance, from opposite ends. Sage 300 is an established on-premise ERP whose listed strengths are multi-entity and multi-currency management, inter-company transactions and good inventory; it rates strong in finance and inventory and moderate across manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, warehousing, HR, projects and BI. Intuit Enterprise Suite rates strong in finance and moderate in HR, projects, inventory and BI, with no manufacturing or warehouse module, and its multi-currency upgrade was in beta for US-dollar organisations in 2026. For a group consolidating entities in several currencies, or running a warehouse, Sage 300 is the better system now. IES wins on platform and roadmap: it is cloud-native, while Sage 300's own record lists limited cloud options and notes that Sage is gradually shifting investment to Sage Intacct. IES is also faster (one to three months against four to eight) and cheaper for a finance-only scope, at an estimated $7,800–$15,000 a year against Sage 300's $50K–$250K typical contract value. Existing Sage 300 customers should run this comparison alongside Sage Intacct.
Pick Intuit Enterprise Suite if
US-only, finance-led groups that want cloud consolidation and native payroll; professional services groups; QuickBooks users moving up; Sage 300 customers without multi-currency or warehouse dependencies.
Pick Sage 300 if
Groups consolidating entities in several currencies today; distributors with real inventory and warehousing; businesses that need on-premise or hybrid deployment.

Sage 300 and Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES) are both sold on multi-entity finance, but they come at it from opposite ends. Sage 300 is an established on-premise ERP whose listed strengths are multi-entity and multi-currency management with strong inventory. IES is a young cloud platform built on QuickBooks, with consolidation, dimensions and native US payroll. For a group with foreign-currency entities or real inventory, Sage 300 is the stronger fit today. For a US group that wants to move off spreadsheets and onto a cloud system its QuickBooks-trained finance team already understands, IES is the more modern choice — with the caveat that Sage itself is shifting investment away from Sage 300.
Module strengths on each side
Sage 300 rates strong in finance and inventory; moderate in manufacturing, supply chain, HR, project management, procurement, warehouse management and business intelligence; basic in CRM, quality and ecommerce. Its listed strengths are excellent multi-entity and multi-currency management, strong financial management and inter-company transactions, good inventory and distribution, and flexible reporting.
IES rates strong in finance and moderate in HR, project management, inventory and business intelligence, with basic supply chain, procurement, CRM, ecommerce and asset management, and no manufacturing or warehouse coverage. Sage 300 wins on operations and on currency: IES's multi-currency upgrade was in beta for US-dollar functional-currency organisations only in 2026, and Intuit describes IES as US-only. Sage 300's inventory, procurement and warehouse ratings are each a grade higher.
IES wins on platform. It is cloud-native; Sage 300's own cons describe it as primarily on-premise with limited cloud options, and note that Sage is gradually shifting investment to Sage Intacct. A buyer choosing a system for the next decade should weigh that roadmap signal. IES also has asset management (basic) where Sage 300 has none, and payroll native to the platform.
Pricing and cost shape
Sage 300 starts at $75 per user per month, and its record puts typical contract value at $50K–$250K over a four-to-eight-month implementation, plus the infrastructure an on-premise deployment needs. IES publishes no prices; independent estimates in our IES pricing guide run about $7,800–$15,000 a year depending on entity count, with a one-to-three-month implementation. IES is the cheaper and faster project for a finance-led scope.
Size and industry fit
Both records cover 51–250 and 251–1,000 employees. Sage 300's primary industries are wholesale and distribution, manufacturing and professional services, with construction and real estate secondary. IES's primary industry is professional services, with wholesale and distribution and construction secondary.
Professional services groups are the strongest overlap, and there IES's cloud platform and payroll make it competitive. Distributors with warehouses, and any group consolidating entities in several currencies, should favour Sage 300 or another system with production multi-currency.

Migration and stack notes
Existing Sage 300 customers are the likeliest readers here. Sage's own direction points them toward Sage Intacct, and that comparison is worth running alongside this one. IES is a realistic destination for a Sage 300 group that is US-only, finance-led and wants native payroll; it is not one for a group dependent on multi-currency or warehouse processes. From QuickBooks, IES keeps the chart of accounts, classes and vendor lists on upgrade, which Sage 300 cannot offer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which handles multi-currency better?
Sage 300. Multi-currency management is one of its listed strengths, while IES's multi-currency upgrade was in beta for US-dollar functional-currency organisations in 2026.
Is Sage 300 being replaced?
Sage 300's own record lists as a con that Sage is gradually shifting investment to Sage Intacct. It remains supported, but buyers should factor the roadmap into a long-term decision.
Is Intuit Enterprise Suite a good replacement for Sage 300?
For a US-only, finance-led group, it can be: cloud deployment, multi-entity consolidation and native payroll. For groups needing multi-currency or warehouse capability, it is not yet a like-for-like replacement.
Which is faster to implement?
IES, typically one to three months against Sage 300's four to eight.
