Challenge: After 20 years on a heavily modified Oracle E-Business Suite, each upgrade behaved like a reimplementation, patching required major outages and long testing periods, and ageing on-premises hardware carried continuing infrastructure cost.

Solution: Following a 2020 Oracle EPM implementation with DXC, the university worked with DXC on the business case and the move to Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, explicitly avoiding code extensions to the SaaS application, unwinding customisations onto standard functionality, and adding Oracle Procurement and Project Portfolio Management.

Results: The university moved core financial systems to Oracle Cloud ERP with quarterly feature updates in place of major upgrades, standardised processes previously handled by customisation, and set out to shift from manual month-end reconciliations toward management by exception, with PPM applied to research grant management.

We wanted to improve the cost-benefit equation. The continued maintenance of on-premise solutions where you are only as good as the last major upgrade was a drag on efficiency.

Challenge: National Pharmacies wanted to reach its 300,000 members through mobile and social channels but ran separate ERP applications that made new consumer-facing services slow and costly to deliver.

Solution: The retailer selected DXC Practice for Oracle to consolidate its ERP applications and move them to Oracle Cloud, and to upgrade backend business processes and planning systems, building a reusable library of standard business processes on Oracle technology.

Results: With ERP consolidated in the cloud, National Pharmacies developed consumer applications more readily, including an app countdown clock showing time remaining on personalised offers based on prior purchases, and reported more efficient order fulfilment and streamlined operations from reusing standard processes.

Many of our consumers are using mobiles today, whether they're purchasing or talking about what they've purchased or what they're going to purchase next. Our technology had to change to compete.
