Overview

CluedIn is a graph-native, Azure-native master data management (MDM) platform that unifies, cleans, governs and enriches enterprise data using AI-driven agents. It delivers core MDM capabilities -- entity resolution, data mastering, data quality monitoring and policy-based governance -- across data pulled from ERPs, CRMs, cloud databases and unstructured sources.

Rather than classic ETL/ELT, CluedIn uses a technique it calls "eventual connectivity": data is ingested as-is and tagged with metadata, then records with matching tags are merged or related within a graph database. This lets it build a single, high-fidelity view of master data (people, companies, vendors, products and more) without forcing source systems into a rigid predefined schema up front.

CluedIn is built to run on Azure (Azure Kubernetes Service) and integrates natively with the Microsoft data estate -- including Microsoft Purview (as a certified MDM solution), Microsoft Fabric/OneLake, Power Platform, Azure Data Factory, Databricks and Azure OpenAI. It is commonly used to consolidate and cleanse data during ERP migrations and multi-ERP consolidations, including projects that unify several legacy ERPs into a single Microsoft Dynamics 365 instance, and to ingest on-premises data from systems such as SAP, Oracle and IBM.

Features & capabilities

Data Ingestion & Integration

Connecting and pulling data from ERP, CRM, cloud and on-premises sources.

  • Prebuilt connectors for cloud and on-premises sources (SAP, Oracle, IBM, Salesforce, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, Hadoop)
  • Low-code data integration
  • On-premises crawling agents for non-public systems
  • 90+ Azure Data Factory-based connectors (Redshift, BigQuery, ServiceNow, Marketo, Teradata, etc.)
  • "Eventual connectivity" schema-flexible ingestion (no rigid upfront mapping)

Entity Resolution & Mastering

Resolving duplicate records into a single trusted master record.

  • Graph-based entity resolution and matching
  • Fuzzy-logic machine learning for record linking
  • Golden record / mastering across domains (people, companies, vendors, products)
  • Support for custom and unstructured domains (files, mail, events)

Data Quality & Governance

Monitoring, remediating and enforcing policy over enterprise data.

  • Continuous data quality monitoring and scoring
  • AI agents that detect, decide and fix data issues automatically
  • Policy-based governance and compliance rules
  • Full lineage, attribution and audit trail
  • Data stewardship workflows for business users

Microsoft Ecosystem Integration

Native connectivity across the Microsoft Azure data estate.

  • Certified integration with Microsoft Purview for MDM
  • Microsoft Fabric and OneLake connectivity
  • Power Platform and Power BI integration
  • Azure Databricks, Synapse Analytics and Event Hubs streaming
  • Azure OpenAI-powered enrichment and agents

Data Delivery & Enrichment

Publishing governed, enriched data to downstream systems.

  • GraphQL, REST and WebSocket data access (pull and push)
  • Streaming of cleaned/governed data to analytics platforms
  • AI-driven data enrichment and validation
  • Notification/collaboration integrations (Teams, Slack, Outlook, Jira, ServiceNow, HubSpot)

Deployment & Administration

Running and managing the platform on Azure.

  • SaaS (managed, pay-as-you-go) deployment
  • PaaS deployment inside a customer's own Azure tenant
  • Runs on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) with Helm chart install option
  • Role-based access control via Azure RBAC and Azure Key Vault
  • Single sign-on (SSO) support

Common use cases

  • Consolidating data from multiple legacy ERPs into a single Microsoft Dynamics 365 instance during an ERP migration
  • Ingesting and mastering data from on-premises SAP or Oracle systems alongside cloud sources
  • Building a single, governed view of master data (customers, vendors, products) across disconnected business systems
  • Using Microsoft Purview together with CluedIn as a certified MDM layer for enterprise data governance
  • Feeding cleaned, deduplicated master data to Power BI, Databricks or Synapse Analytics for reporting and analytics
  • Continuously detecting and auto-remediating data quality issues with AI agents instead of manual stewardship
  • Acting as a data fabric that unifies dozens to hundreds of siloed data sources without rigid upfront schema mapping

Strengths & considerations

Strengths

  • Graph-native "eventual connectivity" model merges records via metadata tagging instead of rigid ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Deep, certified integration with the Microsoft data estate, including Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Fabric/OneLake
  • Agentic AI layer that detects, decides and fixes data quality issues automatically, with lineage and attribution
  • Flexible SaaS or customer-hosted Azure (PaaS) deployment with usage-based, pay-as-you-go pricing
