Overview
Salesforce Revenue Cloud is Salesforce's configure-price-quote and revenue lifecycle management offering, built natively on the Salesforce Platform and tightly coupled to Sales Cloud. It automates product configuration, pricing, discounting, quoting, contracting, ordering, and billing so sales teams can generate accurate quotes without leaving the CRM. The product line evolved from the original Salesforce CPQ (formerly SteelBrick, acquired by Salesforce in 2015) into the broader Revenue Cloud platform, and more recently into Revenue Cloud Advanced / Agentforce Revenue Management with a unified product model and an Advanced Configurator.
The platform extends CPQ into a full quote-to-cash workflow: contract lifecycle management with templated agreements, order orchestration, subscription and renewal management, usage-based and recurring billing, and revenue recognition aligned to ASC 606 and IFRS 15. Because it runs on the same data model as the rest of Salesforce, opportunity, account, product, and pricing data are shared across sales, service, and finance.
Revenue Cloud is positioned at mid-market and enterprise organizations already standardized on Salesforce that want quoting and billing inside the CRM rather than in a separate system. Salesforce is layering AI agents (Agentforce) on top of the revenue lifecycle to assist with configuration, pricing guidance, and quote generation.
