QAD Adaptive ERP Modules FAQ

Is QAD an ERP system?

Yes. QAD Adaptive ERP is a cloud ERP purpose-built for global manufacturers, with particular depth in automotive, life sciences, and CPG. It's strong on manufacturing, supply chain, and quality management, but its CRM and HR modules are basic and it has no ecommerce or field service modules.

What does QAD ERP stand for?

QAD doesn't publicly define what the letters originally stood for today — the company operates simply as QAD Inc., taken private by Thoma Bravo in 2021, and positions its product as cloud ERP built specifically for global manufacturers rather than a general-purpose suite.

What is QAD ERP system?

QAD ERP system is cloud-native manufacturing ERP with deep industry templates for automotive, pharmaceuticals, and food & beverage, built-in EDI and supply chain collaboration tools, and strong quality management with compliance traceability. It's a narrower fit than Tier 1 ERPs outside manufacturing — CRM, HR, ecommerce, and field service are either basic or absent.
